Look Up From Your Electronic Devices!

I was listening to an advertisement encouraging us to go into a tv coma the other day. I stopped for a second and thought, wow, how much time do I spend on electronic devices? Now as I write this, from an Electronic device of course, I decided to begin implementing a habit I used to do. If I'm watching my favorite TV episode I have be planking, squatting, lunging, doing push ups or stretching at least every 15 min. So for however long it takes me to write this and post it to my other social media sites, I will in return do that long in exercising. AS SOON AS I'M DONE! I challenge you to do the same. Get up or down and start doing some squats or push ups! Let's GO-Now!!! I challenged all of you to keep your 'Get Healthy' New Years Resolution. Now it's your turn to put forth the effort, even if it's just 5 min, because that's 5 MIN MORE THAN YOU WERE GOING TO DO...
This goal is attainable, you just have to get going!

Are You Doing Your Push Ups Correctly?

Surprisingly there are so many people who do Not do push ups correctly. If you look at the picture below, it is a great example of incorrect form!

This is a great picture of how the body should look. A straight line from the head to the feet and stay that way throughout the whole push up.

                            HAVE A PLAN

I know that tomorrow will be a very long day for me and I will hit my wall around 4pm. Instead of being exhausted I put together a quick 5 min cardio-boxing workout to do at 3pm that will give me energy..
30 sec jog in place
10 jabs each arm
10 crosses each arm
10 jab-cross combos each arm
10 hooks
10 knees
10 hook-knee combos.
30 sec walk in place cool down
I will DEFINITELY be AWAKE after that!
Try it out and see how you feel! Remember though quality over quantity. Always keep your form correct during the exercise.

Eat different Colored Fruits And Veggies

It is important to eat a variety of different colored fruits and vegetables. The coloring can indicate the nutrients in it. So the next time your at the grocery store think of buying a fruit or veggie for each color of the Rainbow. This can help keep you on track to getting all the vitamins and minerals you need!

The Weekend Is Almost Here!

It is almost Friday! Which can mark the beginning of a chaotic weekend. The best advice I can give is to: START PLANNING OUT YOUR WEEKEND MEALS NOW! This is one of our biggest downfalls. Then on Monday we feel horrible about ourselves. Break the cycle Now! Buy food and prepare meals like below.

Jumping Rope

When we were young we loved to jump rope, sing songs to it and some extremely talented children could do double Dutch!!!!
Now, it's not quite the same as you see below
Now we are lucky if we don't hit our legs as we do the 2nd jump!  It is not nearly as easy as it was when we were kids, however, there are some great benefits.
It is one of the best cardiovascular exercises out there. Hence why we get out of breath so quickly.
So let's start improving our cardiovascular system and grab a jump rope. (Just a suggestion, don't borrow your children's, you'll most likely hit yourself in the head!) The best way to begin our journey to jumping rope is, start small. Two reasons: 1st-easy to get out of breath, 2nd-we get easily frustrated when we aren't able to do something that looks like such a simple task. 
Let's set a goal of 10 repetitions total, not necessarily in a row and that's it.
Then we work or way up to eventually multiple sets of 50 repetitions.

Work Out With A Partner

Working out with another person consistently, nearly DOUBLES your chances of reaching your goals. The only other thing that increases your chances even more is to work with a Great Personal Trainer!!! So find someone to workout with who will help motivate you and keep you accountable. This will help you along your road to success!

The Benefits Of Eating An Apple

Here are a several great reasons why you should eat an apple:

1. They are high in fiber.
2. They are low in calorie density, so we
    can eat a whole Apple as opposed to 1
    slice at a time.
3. They taste great and are easy to pair
    with most meals or as a snack.
4. They help clean your mouth and teeth
    from bacteria!
5. You can find them at any grocery store
    (Just make sure to buy the ones that
     have stickers beginning with a 9 not 4)

Those are some pretty awesome benefits to get from eating an apple!
